Fujikazu joined the family in Canada in 1938. He was a shipbuilder employed by Union Boat Works. In 1942, the family was forcibly uprooted to Greenwood, BC. Fujikazu came to Revelstoke during the internment. He first worked at Pradolini Brothers Construction. In 1948, he and his cousin Dennis Shigekazu Hayashi started Revelstoke Boat and Woodworks and then acquired the Pradolini Brothers Construction business upon Al Pradolini's retirement. The Boat and Woodworks changed to Revelstoke Builders Supply in 1955. Dennis sold his share in 1972 to Fuji, as he started clothing stores with his wife. Fuji carried on the business of Revelstoke Builders Supply until March 15, 1978, when it was sold to Peter Ozero upon Fuji’s retirement.

Fujikazu married Evelyn Tomiko Shirakawa from Steveston, BC, in 1957. They had four children: Karen, Cary, Glen, and Dale.
