Archives Assistant
YCW Summer Student Position
We are currently hiring for up to 2 summer Archives Assistant Positions. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for archival accessioning, digitization, and storage. Recently, the museum received 2 substantial donations, one from Parks Canada and one from a well-known local family, that amounts to approximately 1500 pieces of photos and associated documentation. The goal of the project is for this material to be fully processed and accessioned by the end of the contract.
In addition to the main project, successful candidates will have the opportunity to write a weekly newspaper column, Glimpses of the Past (which is also published on our website), accession any new artifact donations that come in during their contract, participate in Collections Committee meetings, and provide visitor services through lunch coverage in the Gift Shop and assistance with small community events and programs.
