Profile:
Charles Treat was a railway conductor in Revelstoke. He died on 18 February 1930 in a snowslide at Downie. Slides had been coming down in the area for several days, including one the previous week that derailed several wheat cars. Conductor Charles Treat was in charge of the wrecking train, and divisional master mechanic Michael Boucher was supervising the work. Another small slide came down and hit a boxcar, which toppled over onto Treat and Boucher, killing them both.
Treat had been working for the Canadian Pacific Railway since 1904 and in Revelstoke since 1910. He was survived by a wife, two sons and a daughter.
